On balance, when I weigh the goldfish-like attention span I possessed as a fickle youth, against my gradually mellowing demeanor as I edge ever so slowly towards lower middle age, it seems like a good idea to start my very own blog. The purpose of this particular microscopic niche of the internet is to give some structure to my thought processes and the procedures I put in place as I attempt to develop my career as a network engineer.
On Wednesday (21 March), I'll take the first exam of the Juniper Networks certification track, namely the JNCIA-JunOS (JN0-101). I know, it just rolls off the tongue like an oyster making a particularly determined escape attempt, doesn't it? The significance of this is that I will then be certified with two separate vendors (Cisco CCNP certified as of last December!), which I hope will add a more balanced and diverse skill set to my arsenal. Given that I'm still really just laying the foundations of my future career, I can't say for certain just how much I will benefit from being dual certified, but it certainly won't do me any harm, and I have to start somewhere. Anyway, without further ado, back to the studies I go. Wish me luck people, I'm about to take the red pill!
